7 Ways to Find Happiness Through Discomfort

Finding personal happiness is difficult enough when everything is going well, and it’s even more difficult when you’re out of your comfort zone. Everyone has their own comfort zone, and it’s very simple and safe to stay inside of it. However, one of the best places that you can find new happiness is outside of your comfort zone. I’ve experienced some of the biggest joys in my life thanks to moving out of my comfort zone into places and things that make me even happier.

Here are some of the best ways that I’ve considered finding happiness through periods of discomfort.

1.Working on a project at work how someone else wants me to do it, despite the fact that I’m unsure about their plan: This is a great way to grow and learn more about other ways of getting things done.

2.Go on a trip without planning an itinerary: This might not work for some vacations, but a short trip without a schedule is a great way to push yourself to meet new people and explore new places without a safety blanket.

3.Quitting your job to start your own personal business: Removing the comfort and safety net from underneath you can really push you to be and do your best.

4.Selling your house to move into an apartment, decrease your debt, and increase your savings: This is a situation full of discomfort and many people don’t understand the logic, but this change can lead to financial freedom and in the end you’ll be overjoyed with your choice.

5.Putting everything in God’s hands: We all have things that are easy to put in God’s hands, but putting everything in His hands takes a lot of courage.

6.Being completely honest with everyone in your life: This can be full of discomfort for you and the person that you are being honest with, but it’s the best way to transform your relationships into something much more authentic.

7.Living outside for a weekend to experience homelessness: This is a radical type of discomfort that can teach you how to really appreciate the blessings that you have, from food to shelter.

What discomfort has been keeping you from achieving personal happiness? Leave it in the comments below to share.
